Hi, I'm the one selling the chambered exhaust system, in the classifieds. Is 3500.00 to munch, if it is what would be a fair price. I need to get rid of them, need money fast.

Well you can buy a new complete system from Gardner for around a grand. and its probably a better system than the ones GM installed new back in the day.
But then again, I'm not one of those NOS guys that will buy a chrome wingnut for 80.00 bucks ether. I would put it on ebay and see what happens.

At the risk of hurting feeling here, I thought the $3500.00 was a typo. I thought the asking price was $350.00, and I thought that was a bit high. It's a fairly rusty used exhaust system, isn't it? Maybe the pictures are bad? Maybe I just don't see it? The original systems were steel, not aluminized like the Gardner system. I'd also stick it on Ebay, and see what happens, but in my opinion the $3500 asking price is way off. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not afraid to hurt feelings. $3500??? seriously l:). For one, it's no longer NOS since it has been used. plus..it's rusty. Why in the world would anyone spend $3500 on rusty exhaust when you can get a BRAND NEW system from Gardner that is as nice as you can get for $1000???? Knock a 0 off that price and you MIGHT come back into the realm of reality.

Thanks for the reply, the only parts that are rusty is the front pipes from 1968 part that bolts to the exhaust manifolds, the rest of the systems was painted black in 1988, you can see from the pics that I cleaned parts of it with thinner. No rust on chambered part, or tail pipe.

Say Bill, does anyone make a steel system? Gardner seems to be the choice for quality systems. I'm this far ---- from ordering one. What do you have?

Alex the chambered systems are annoyingly loud and will draw unwanted attention. I would highly recommended hearing one prior to purchase as they seems to stick around about as long as gear drive setup's.

I recently installed a Gardner stock 67 system on my car and the sound is perfect....Not to loud and not to quiet, a nice rumble........

Actually I think the Chambers from the factory had some sort of coating on them. Here is a picture of my original chambers next to my Gardner set up, you can still see a little of the coating on them. They are not an exact match but they are close. I used my original chambered mufflers with the rest of the Gardner pipes. It was a perfect fit. I also used all my original hangers with the Gardner system.

Do you have the original exhaust tips that came with that setup, that would help? If your price were more realistic I might be interested in the system. It would go with my car well.

Here's a link to all my chambered system pics.

And I just want to add, I do not think the Chambered systems are Loud at all. My car is very quiet compared to most at any show I go to.

Used exhaust only brings three & one half cents per pound around here. :D

Mr Rose and I both used the Gardner stock, aluminized steel exhaust system. It has a nice, deep idle tone, but is quiet going down the road. I actually get more intake noise from my car at full throttle (open air filter on 350 HP motors) than exhaust noise. You can't beat Gardner for the quality fit and great service.
