I just rebuild my 67' Malibu power steering gearbox. There is a plug that threads into the gear assembly. which is inside the housing. About 3/4" dia. It is an aluminum plug and mine is broken. Anybody know where to get one or what to use instead?

Your local salvage yard would be the easiest place to find it.

Salvage yards are tough to come by in Los Angeles. The ones I've been to willl sell a used pump, but won't let me open it to see if the plug is still good.
