As it reads:

TR 715 67 67 PNT

This is for a 71 project I may be buying. Thanks.

715 is trim code for Ant. Lt. Sandalwood Coated Fabric, Ant. Lt. Sandalwood Coated Fabric but without the 'A52' bucket seat RPO code behind it, it should be bench I believe. 1971 was the first year the same code number was used for bench and bucket seat interior. No code or RPO 'A51' was bench, 'A52' was coded for buckets.

R 39589 is 'R' for Arlington, TX and 39589 is the Fisher Body number. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Dale...Are you sure 715 would be a bench seat? I'm looking at two books that show:

1.) cloth bench sansalwood - 718
2.) vinyl bench sandalwood- 714
3.) vinyl bucket sandalwood -715

Junkyard...What is in the car now? Is it a bench or bucket car? What color are the seats?

I'm not at home right now to check, but my GM parts book lists all trim codes and up through 1970, it separates bench and bucket seats since they used different codes for each. For 71 and 72, it only lists a single code number. It lists 714 and 715 as such:

714 ~ Ant. Lt. Sandalwood Coated Fabric ~ (13636-37-39-46-47-67-69-80) ~ (13836-46)
715 ~ Ant. Lt. Sandalwood Coated Fabric, Ant. Lt. Sandalwood Coated Fabric ~ (13637-67-80)
718 ~ Lt. Sandalwood Rondel Cloth, Ant. Lt. Sandalwood Coated Fabric ~ (13637-39-69)

I have photos of two different 71's with coded 706 (black) seats - one bench and one bucket seat car with the difference being the 'A51' code for buckets.

I only report what's listed in my GM parts book. These other '...by the numbers...' books are so full of errors, I don't rely on 'em.

But I can tell by scraping some paint from the dash it was a light sand color at one time. I don't know if the buckets are original or not. The car also has a floor shifter and it did have a center console. (someone stole it) The steering column is also for a floor shifted car and there's no shift inducator on the dash. I'm thinking this is an original bucket seat car but I guess I need to go look at the rest of the cowl tag to prove this.

It's simple to tell if it was an original bucket seat car by looking at the inside brackets of each seat. If they are aftermarket brackets, it will be obvious. It would be my guess that it originally was just what the cowl tag says. Sandalwood buckets. If the console is gone, you can also look at the rear bracket and know if it is an original bracket ,thus an original console / bucket car.If you can send me ( or post ) a picture of the console or seat brackets, I can tell you if it's original or not...
