hey fellas, just picked up a rochester carb, which is what I believe to be a 7029200, but all that is stamped is 29200 EE then date code of either o639 or 0839 hard to tell. anyone know of these carbs either through the grapevine or personally seeing one without the full cast number stamped upon it? thanks in advance jason.

Q-jets missing the (70) are rather common, and most of these were built by Carter for Rochester.

thanks, jon is there any way to determine if it was built by carter? will this affect authenticity?

Both Carter and Rochester Q-jets were used on assembly line vehicles. Rochester just didn't have enough capacity to build all the carbs GM needed (and they wanted to be prepared in case of a strike) so some of the production was farmed out to Carter. On the drivers side, cast into the main body it will read either ROCHESTER QUADRAJET or QUADRAJET MFG by CARTER. The parts are interchangeable and both are authentic.
