Hey guys. Just got 2 Chevelles today. One is a 1970 ss 396 and the other is a 71 SS clone. The 70 has alot of original parts like F41 suspension, radiator shroud with the extra piece, big block steering shaft, etc. I picked them both up for $5,500. What do you guys think about that? Good deal?
The 70 has 4 bolt main 3999289 block. Not original. Tranny is T400 and supposed to be original. 12 bolt posi in rear. I'm not too worried about originality. I'm going to fix up the 70 for me. I'll also fix the 71 to sell later. Now I have to get rid of my other 71 to create some cash flow for these 2. I'm posting some pics. All comments welcome. I've never been to a site where I got so much GREAT info on my Chevelle.

I'd say you got a steal. You couldn't touch either one of those cars for more than 5,500 (even if you could find one) from here in the rust belt.

I'd say you got a steal. You couldn't touch either ONE of those cars for more than 5,500 (even if you could find one) from here in the rust belt. I have a 72 Malibu that have begun to take apart (front sheet metal and interior are removed and stored), which needs two full quarter panels, inner and outer wells, and some of the trunk pan because it's an Ohio car. If someone came up and offered me 5,500 for it I would laugh at him. (or her). It is at least numbers matching with a fresh engine and trans. I don't know the market in the Lone Star state, but that sounds like a smokin' deal to me.
