He' guys,
How can i spot a merlin 3 (540ci with 10.200" deck) ,when its complete build-up!(when you see only the outside!!!).
Where can i find......I.D.-numbers or serial numbers?.
And what are the numbers to look for?

I have a Merlin II and right on the front of the block under the driver side head its casted in Merlin II

The most common way to spot a Merlin is to check out a P-51 the next time you get a chance. Depending on whether it was built by Rolls Royce or Packard, there are a few minor differences. Both versions are V-12, overhead cam, 1700+ cubic inches.
Oh, 'scuse me, you're talking about some kind of aftermarket V-8 engine. I thought you were asking about a REAL Merlin!
