I am in the process of building a 461 and have a pair of 292 open chamber oval port heads. I will be using TRW L2307 domed pistons which should come in around 12 or 12.5 cr using these heads, maybe even less.
My question is, the heads are stock with 2.06 and 1.71 valves. Would I benefit any by spending around $300 puttng larger valves, 2.19 and 1.88, into these heads as I know they are not as good as the 049 or 781 heads. Like alot of others, I am on a budget with this project and need to put my money where it will count the most. Thanks !

If you end up around 12 to 1 compression, I'd guess you're going to run a pretty serious cam. Yes, bigger valves, a valve job, and a bowl blend would help you out quite a bit.
