Visited the local salvage yard this past weekend and removed the blower motor and housing from a fairly complete 69 Malibu. This unit appeared to have never been removed before. Inside the housing, under a clump of insulation, and in front of the heater core, I found the remains of a build sheet. Not much to it. Mostly pieces, the largest of which was about the size of a business card, but definately a build sheet. It begs the question... If not placed there by someone on the line 35 years ago, is there any other way it could have ended up there? Of course, I am assuming that the housing had never been cracked open before. Either way, it was interesting to find.

Since you asked - I guess I can tell the story now that the mangy dog has passed on
I remember well this fella telling me a long time ago he put that build sheet there cause
The wife was on his a..... cause he was staying out late a lot and smelled of liquour when he got home
One night when he was supposed to be working at the assembly plant he was really out with his honey .
He was with the honey when his wife and kids showed up at the plant desk and told the guard they wanted to seem him right now or a divorce was in the works. They smelled a rat.
Guard called the forman who called the guy at the tavern and he sprinted back to the plant but then needed a story real quick story for the wife
He made up some story on the spot about all the work he was doign and it could be proven if she just looked at the work logs
But before he went out he was doodling on your work sheet kinda dreaming about his side adventures.
So he stuffed the doodled on worksheet in your car rather than get caught with the incriminating evidence - never really expected
it to be found
