Im looking to replace my old alternator with a 100amp one. should I be looking for 12v type or does it really matter>?
\I have a 72 chevelle convert. 350.

I am looking on spending $90 to $130 around there so if any of you guys have any links or types of alternators I should take a look at would be nice. Ive been looking at the powermasters and summit for them but not really sold on one yet. I would like to have the 3 wire connet instead of the 1.

Check this tech article out: http://www.chevelles.com/techref/ftecref14.html I'd get a late model CS style alternator & BE DONE WITH ANY WORRIES. Worked for me & is easily in your budget. I bought mine from eBay WITH a plug - n - play wiring adapter. I did have to re-clock the alternator so the mounts were in the correct location but it was easy- even for me.
