My brother finally got his 69 Pontiac back. It has been at "Muscle Car Restorations Inc" in Chippewan Falls, WI for about 2 years.
Here is the history. Car was originally bought brand new by our dad in 69. Started out life as a Laurentian 350 two barrel, single exhaust, turbo 350 auto, 12 bolt 3.08 non posi. After many engines, home and other restorations my brother decided to have a complete frame off, acid dipped restoration with every single part and bolt brand new that needed it. It was an extremely expensive restoration (without saying numbers) due to you can't just buy parts for this car from Year One or other popular car restoration suppliers. Most parts had to be hand created or found from very little donor cars out there.
He wanted to make it a 2+2 clone that had some factory look to it. 2+2's came factory with a 390 HP 427 Chev engine and optional 4 speed. He had considered taking an actual 2+2 and doing this but then the family history and feel would be lost.
It now has a GM ZZ502 painted and with exhaust manifolds to look like a factory 427 "Astro Jet" as they were called in Pontiacs in Canada. Also with the addition of a Tremec 5 speed standard. The factory 12 bolt has posi and 4.11 gears added. Other upgrades include new power windows, dash gauges, bucket & console, disk brakes.

The "116" plate is the same the car had when bought new in Canada in 69.

Now the car is in Washington, driving it around, no-one seems to know what it is and are very interested.
