Yes there is a top and a bottom and it does matter how the spring is oriented. Go to the library and get a service manual. It has pictures showing the orientation (how the spring end is clocked). If memory serves me the top spring end points to the drivers side. Get a manual to be certain. It also outlines the entire procedure.

I agree with zookpr, but IIRC :yes:, I believe the top of the spring end points to the right side (passenger side). :thumbsup:
