I assume that we can take that as proof that it actually does exist... All these discussions about the new Camaro have sounded like "The check is in the mail", but maybe we'll see them on the streets pretty soon?

They actually exist now. Yesterday was the official start of production and many big names were at the assembly plant to see them start rolling off the line.

though I would just post the pics here....I'm pumped about this car. Official numbers for the V8 1/4 mile 12.9 @ 111 mph...and 25 mpg...thats amazing. And the V6 with 304hp and 29 mpg...

If they respond to bolt ons like the LS1's in the 4th gens they could hit 11's pretty darn easy.:beers:

The vettes with the same engines, bolt ons and a cam are hitting around 500rwhp. Stock they are putting down between 380-390rwhp

you for got to read "The first two of those 14,000 went to Hendrick, who has been a Chevy dealer for 33 years. He paid $350,000 — all of which was donated to the American Heart Association — for the right to buy VIN 0001 during the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event at Scottsdale, Ariz., in January. Chevrolet also agreed to sell him VIN 0002."

So the two Camaro SS I've seen pacing the Nascar races over the past few weeks, don't have vin#s correct?

CDBiker220
Mar 17th, 09, 5:29 PM
Correct, they had no vins, there is hundreds of preproduction cars that are vin'ed as 09 models but are not registerable

Chevrolet missed the mark again
VIN 0001 should have been orange with white stripes and black interior car
or should have been a black and black car

orange interior I wanted to puke.
Rick H can have it
the interior did me in!

The good thing for GM ... is they knew you weren't going to buy VIN 1 anyway. :D

if I remember right, the winning bidder got to choose the color combo, GM had nothing to do with it.....

local newspaper reported today that deliveries have started to dealers. just hope they don't add the $10-15K premiums that Dodge dealers did on Challengers. now they are discounting them.
