: Nickey Poster
andrew T Mar 16th, 09, 7:25 PM Hey Guys
I just picked up a Nickey poster from a car show this weekend, because there was a guy there from chicago with a 69 nickey camaro in green...sweet car!
I got one of the 3 posters he had there. It is like an ad poster for their upgrades for the new camaro. It has like a yellowed look, kind of vintage looking. I was gonna plaque it or poster frame it. Is it worth it? or do I just have some random enlarged flyer that anyone can pick up in chicago at Nickey?
either or I will put it in something on my wall anyhow just to get some moe chevy love in my room:D
Stefano Apr 3rd, 09, 12:28 AM It is patterned after the original Nickey Super Camaro Advertisments of the 1960s. I have one hanging on my office wall.
andrew T Apr 3rd, 09, 4:29 PM Yes that is the one,
I went ahead and bought a 10 dollar frame for it. It is now in my room looking cool as can be!
Xplantdad Apr 3rd, 09, 5:48 PM I'm thinking that you must have got it from Stefano's booth!:beers:
I'll betcha the car was green with a white stripe, right?:D

hell yes! that car was beautiful!
Yelcamino Apr 3rd, 09, 9:14 PM I grew up down the street from Nickey. I used to ride my bicycle into the service bay to get air in my tires! I went back to Chicago about 4 years ago and they were in the process of tearing the original Nickey buildings down to build condos. Fortunately Sabitino's Italian restaurant is still thriving and the food is still awesome.
This picture is in the back of the dealership. I didn't think to get a picture of the front. I'm sure by now the condos have been completed.

andrew T Apr 4th, 09, 12:04 AM were you at performance world in Toronto with Stefano?
It's a shame the original building has been torn down
I dunno if I was allowed to but there were 3 posters of it on the ground, I saw them and how cool they looked, noone was around to ask if it was free, so I just took it. Thanks Stefano:D:thumbsup:
Xplantdad Apr 4th, 09, 9:54 AM No...one of my friends Bob A most likely took this picture...
Stefano is a great guy...and has some incredible iron as well:hurray:
andrew T Apr 4th, 09, 11:49 AM Yes that car is BEAUTIFUL!
those posters on the floor in the picture, that is the one I took lol
czeto Apr 4th, 09, 4:01 PM This is just not a building but a piece of American history which is lost forever. Just look at the Camaro and compare with a Honda with a barrel exhaust.
Choo Choo SS Apr 6th, 09, 1:09 AM Many times I went to the Nickey parts dept in the day. I remember one of their build cars that used to sit outside of the parts dept that was a 64 or 65 chevelle 300 gold with a 427 and I think a 67 or 68 Camaro with a 427 . This was in like 70 or 71.
bashton Apr 7th, 09, 11:54 AM Yep, the poster was indeed there for you to enjoy (and take home).
I was the guy there and it was a blast. Just wait until Stefano has the matching Gen 5 Nickey Camaro beside the 69 you saw!

Yo Bob! What's up? (Bob is the "other" guy always with a camera):hurray:
andrew T Apr 21st, 09, 6:14 PM I just re read the poster. If this Stefano is Mr. Bimbi, is he the owner or manager of Nickey now?
It says to call him for "details, updates, and pricing information"
Xplantdad Apr 21st, 09, 10:09 PM You are correct...and correct!

Stefano Apr 29th, 09, 11:41 PM The Super Car Reunion is one of the all Time Best Car Events, in the History of the World!!
Tremendous Cars, Racing just for fun and The Greatest "Car" people you'll ever meet.
That COPO 9561 Camaro is a blast. It is originaly an X11 Style Trim, Cortez Silver with Black Vinyl and Black Std. Interior COPO. It came from the factory with the NC8 Chambered exhaust and an M22 Trans.
It has recently been professionally restored by Cadwallader's Classics, in Ohio, not far from where the COPO was originally sold new.
You can see this COPO as well as the twin, 9562, L72, original owner, COPO, Chevelle, which is also Cortez Silver, with a Black Vinyl top and Black Bench interior at this Years Super Car reunion.
Don't miss it!
Also, we will have full size 24"x36" posters of the 2010 Nickey Camaro on eBay later this week.
