I am replacing a cracked windshield and 40 yr old vinyl top on a 1969 Chevelle.I need to find out how the windshield trim is removed and the trim holding the edges of the vinyl top.Ive seen tools on line, but hate to waste money when Im not sure what tools I need.

You need a clip removal tool, it is shaped like a triangle on the end. You should be able to pick one up for about 15 bucks. Slide the triangle part under the molding and go to you feel a clip. Then gently pry it forward until the clip releases the molding.

You could also buy a stiff blade putty knife and notch it a little on the "pointy" side.
It will work essentially the same.

I use one of these. Bought it at the local auto parts store.
