I am guessing that he did this in order to determine the seller's reserve, or some other shady reason. Regardless, his third bid stands as the winning bid...
ccarney69 Mar 5th, 04, 8:34 PM Looking closer at the times, that is correct. Thanks
tanner Mar 6th, 04, 10:13 AM OK guys , I watch ebay an I'm kinda of new to it but how do you know that the winning bid was retracted ?

When you look at an auction on eBay, notice that the number of bids is a link. Click on that, and it will take you to a bid history page. Go to the bottom of that page, and you will see any bids that were retracted during the course of the auction.
Here (http://offer.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws3/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=2462654619) is the bid history on the Z-16.
tanner Mar 6th, 04, 6:47 PM I see what you mean to check the bid history but why would he do it 2 or 3 times for the same amount ?

Ls6Convertible Mar 7th, 04, 12:50 AM Actually he could have bid 60k ,70k..ebay will only register the bid amount that was the next interval above the high bidder...so just because the bid history says 3 bids of 45k it doesnt mean exactly 45k was bid each time, that means that thats all that was needed to be the high bidder..whether he bid 48k,79k or 500k
DaleM Mar 7th, 04, 2:02 AM I'd bet he bid the $45K and that hit the reserve. He bid that at 10am and retracted it at 7:45 that evening. Rebid the same amount three minutes later and retracted it again the next day at noon. Three minutes later he makes the same bid again. Sounds like he couldn't make up his mind or his wife couldn't make it up for him.
