The casting number is on the drivers side back of the block, just forward of where the trans bolts up. The numbers you provided are off the front pass side pad. XW is your suffix code. I didn't find a XW but found a few X* suffix codes that stated 68 pick-up 396.

Ok, wrong number. The casting number is 1006?286. The ? is not very readable, either an 8 or a 9. The block has PASS HI PERF embossed in two places.
