I removed my dash pad today to do some work and when I looked at the vin tag I noticed some very faint numbers ingraved between the two rivets that hold the vin tag on, the numbers between the rivets read as follows 3965465 and after them theres what looks like two M's together as one letter like MM . What do these numbers mean? are they just some sort of assembly plant code? The numbers are on a 1972 Chevelle SS built in Baltimore,MD.

Would have to see that to have any comment.
Almost appears to be a part number for the blank tag?

Almost appears to be a part number for the blank tag? I have no way of posting a picture of it, it would be easier if the windsheild was removed to phtograph it though. I checked the little bit of build sheet I have for my 72 and the numbers are not on it, I'm stumped on this one. I don't even ever remember reading anything like this on this site. Anyone have any idea what it might mean, has anyone else seen numbers like this when they had there dash pad off?
