I purchased a hose kit for for my '68, and was wondering which way the GM lettering on the heater hose is supposed to face. As you are standing on the passenger side looking in, is the lettering right side up or upside down?

Rich, I thought they were ribbed and without logos but who knows with all the different factories, each favoring different sources for belts, bolts, hoses, and such all to keep the supply chain varied. If they did had logos, I seriously doubt a factory line worker was instructed or cared how the logos were oriented. Seems like both 5/8 and 3/4" hoses would have been pulled from a spool and therefore would likely read the same way but I doubt they had to be viewable. IMO, just do what looks best to you.

'68's didn't have ribbed hose, that started in '69. It doesn't matter which way the lettering faces.

Thanks for the replies. It's not that it mattered that much to me, but since I am going through the trouble of a frame off restoration, I didn't want to get done and have someone say "nice car, but the lettering on your heater hose is upside down" :D

It really doesnt matter, but like you I like it so I can read it the right way when looking under the hood.
