I just now found an old sheet of paper stuck to a piece of cardboard inside the bench seat in my 1970 Chevelle SS. It's 5 inches wide and 6 inches high, torn (not cut) at the top and bottom. There are four lines of information, handwritten in ink. Is this a build sheet? And can someone please decode the numbers? First line: -S90- (or perhaps it's -590-). Second line: 13637-795. Third line: AK1 A39 B22. Fourth line: M20 3741. I'm hoping one of these is the zone and dealer number, because I'm trying to find the car's original owner. Thanks! -- Jon

I don't reaaly know much about this, but someone posted a picture of one of this, I think. It's really more of a interior build sheet, if I'm correct. There a huge probability that I'm wrong. If your car is a four speed, then that m-20 probably represents your transmission, which would mean I really have no clue as to what I'm talking about. graemlins/thumbsup.gif I'm sure dale will come along and answer this for you. good luck, any documents you find are a bonus. Look on top of the gas tank, as that could be your best bet for a build sheet.

Sounds like the CUSHION ROOM Broadcast copy

There would be many sheets printed at various stages in the assembly. If they were in plain site, they would be torn off when the parts where installed or cleaned out before shipping, i.e. de-papering

If you can post a image, it would help determine. The broadcast sheet for 1970 was bout 8-1/2"x11" in size.

13637 is the model, Chevelle Malibu 2 dr sport coupe
795 appears to be interior trim code for Green Vinyl Bench Seat


Third line: AK1 A39 B22.
AK1 - Custom Deluxe Seat Belts & Shoulder Harness
A39 - Front & Rear Seat Belt with retractors on front belt
B22 - Dr Emblems "SS"

Fourth line: M20 3741.
M20 - Manual 4 sp trans
3741 - Probably a sequence number

What you have there is not a normal production item and there is nothing that could be used to prove its from the car it was found in. Someone could have had that in their pockets for days or weeks.
