Found what looks to be a muncie for 200 bucks today. here are the codes
6261886 Side Cover
338935 Main Case
362264 Tail Housing
046 are the last 3 digits of the bell housing.
GM4 was cast onto the side too. Is this a tranny worth fooling with?

Don't look Muncie numbers. Most casting numbers for case, side cover, and tailhousing start with 38xxxxx or 39xxxxx. Sure it's not a Borg-Warner or Saginaw? The Mr. Gasket site has a Hurst catalog (.PDF format) that has 4-spd id charts. Might check it against one of those.

I'm VERY familiar with all the common Muncie numbers, and none of those are Muncie numbers. Sorry!

All I know it that it is aluminum, and is a 4 speed. And it didn't shift freely.
