If you are using that in a 454 that you talked about in another thread it should idle smooth and be good for idle to about 5000 rpm's.

Here is what Crane says:

"SMOOTH IDLE, DAILY USAGE, FUEL ECONOMY,LIGHT TOWING, OFF ROAD, 2200-2700 CRUISE RPM, 8.5 TO 10.0 COMPRESSION RATIO ADVISED. BASIC RPM 1600-4600"

I personally would hunt up a 210/218 hy-cam and install it vs the 210/210 one and I bet it will become a grunt motor from hell!

I thought he was talking about a BB max. grunt cam?

I have a new in the box Erson HI FLOW AH spec'd at 284/218 or 220 depending on year of their cat, 111/111, .542" lift hy-cam that I hunted for quite a while to make max grunt at some higher rpm's than the 210/218 cam I mentioned earlier.

I greased her up, installed lifters on it and the timing set and then the dreaded, "More power, Scottie" bug bit me and I pulled it out, cleaned everything all up and put back in the boxes and went w/ a good old CC 282S solid lifter cam instead! Never even got the intake on her!

And I have a brand new in the box Clevite 1065 hy-cam too spec'd at

309/221/327/235, 115.5/110.5, .500"/.506" that is one old-fashioned old-school grunt cam.

You wouldn't think so w/ the terrible seat duration numbers, but not so in the real world. Both these cams would be great in boats or pulling dualie work trucks, imho..
