I just picked up a set of re-chromed Original Bumpers, and ordered some SS tail lights/ marker lights. My car is at paint and body right now and I can't wait to install all the trim.

I bought them from the BIG 3 Swap Meet here in San Diego last month. $350 for the pair and I didn't have to give them up my originals as a core. I don't think I will get the SS pad because the car is being painted with out the stripes, and it;s not an SS. I know...I know... the lenses are SS.

Who did the chrome, 70?

Company in San Marcos CA called, Bumper 2 Bumper. They specialize in low rider type cars. Those cars are 80% chrome so they kinda know what they are doing!

Joe,
Call Tri-city plating in TN. See if they can bring a set with them to spring carlisle. Saves on shipping charges. Garuanteed for life. Looking good Vince

x2. I had Tri City do the ones on my 69 and they still look new 6 years later.

Tri City did my 71 bumpers in 99, and still look brand new 10 years later

More dumb questions - I've got a 66 with an original bumper that has a very slight bend in the center. I'd like to stay with an original bumper rather than a repo. How can you tell an original from a repo? I've read that the repos are made from thinner steel, but is there a quick definitive method to tell the difference without measuring the metal thickness? Also, can companies like Tri City straighten an original? Any insight woud be appreciated. I'll be in Charlotte in April and want to be as informed as possible.
