Is there a means to pin a topic to the top of this section so that it is always on top?

My idea would be to put some info for those that want info on VIN tags etc. All to often little information is given which makes it hard to try to answer the question without asking more question. By pinning some guidelines, maybe all the data will be given and a correct answer can be easily shared. I find it time consuming have to read between the lines from incomplete info. Also many are afraid to give a VIN but that is sometimes the only means to verify the base engine or if the tag was changed. VIN were designed to be public, thats why there are in plain site.

Great idea, Mike! It's done in other forums. Maybe title it, "How to tell if your 69-72 Chevelle is a SS" or "Read this BEFORE posting questions".

1. Offer a brief explanation about why you can't tell by the trim tag or VIN if it's a Super Sport or not.
2. Add a link to Dan Carr's page here as additional reference.
3. Any tag decoding needs All the information on the tag, not just, "...what is TR 765?" type questions.
