The S in the VIN makes me think it came from a Corvette and the 6 in front of the S could mean 1966. That's my guess, I am sure someone will be along to give a better answer. smile.gif

My guess is TII24IVH which would be a 325HP 396 in a full size passenger car (Impala, Caprice, etc.)with a Turbo hydramatic transmission (IV) and a Holley carburator (H). I agree with 1966 (6). I think these cars were built in St. Louis (S) also. The rest is the last part of the VIN. This block should be a 3855961 casting number. Tonowanda (T), II24 is the engine assembly date; November 24. Casting date should be a few days earlier: like K 22 5.

T1124?VH6S153737 this is 2 codes, engine code, tehn VIN derivative

T1124?VH
T - Tonawanda Engine Plant
11 - Built in November 1965
24 - Day of the Week
?VH - ?? Has to be IVH as that is the only code that fits. Its from a 1966 full size Chevy car being a 396-325 hp L35 with a TH400 trans and 4-bbl Holley Carb. btw-The H on the end of the suffix denotes Holley carb, R denotes Rochester. GM just used 2 sources for carbs for 1965-66 big block engines. Only reason was Rochester could not supply all the plants.

6S153737
6 - 1966 Model Year
S - St Loius Final Assembly
153737 - Last 6 sequence digits from the original cars VIN
