I am trying to see if the steering wheel that is in my car is an original or replacement. On the build sheet in box 69 it list code KA. Does anyone have this code or can tell me the meaning of KA. My car currently has a chrome wheel with three holes in each of the three supports and the wheel looks like a cherry wood finish. The horn is a chrome cap and does not have nothing on it.
Thanks

I have a 70 Elky sheet for Kansas City with KX and the car has the 3-spoke wheel but the 'soft cushion grip' as is noted as RPO NK1 in the options in block 107.
A Van Nuys sheet has KA but nothing is noted in the options list for a special wheel. Same for two Atlanta cars, same for four Baltimore cars (although one does have a tilt column).
KC is the only plant that lists the color (black on those that I have) instead of the KA found at other plants.
I would surmise the 'KA' code is for a standard wheel and the 'KX' is for RPO NK1, 'Cushion Rim Steering Wheel'. Whether the wood-finished was available in '70 I can't say but it was an option in 1969 under RPO N34, "Wood-grained plastic steering wheel".
