I keep reading your description and see a distinct lack of the word/title SUPER SPORT, so can we safely assume this car is not a REAL, Verified SS?

That seems a little optimistic to me Mike, I was thinking 12-14000 for a Malibu that needs rust repair and a complete paint job. We didnt see the interior at all.

But if ya want $14,000 you need to ask $16,000 ;)

and as I said, one thing I know about this forum.. any post that is Dead on Delivery.. only way to get people to VOICE their opinion is to post a Reply yourself.. people love to come in second or third after someone else has given an opinion :D

I was in Atlantic City last month and saw a 70 SS clone BB go thru the auction,,,Car was in good shape, very presentable car and the owner said he had 10K in the motor alone. The car only brought $9,000 ! I'm really seeing the non SS / clone market being the first hit on the pull back in pricing.

You're going to take a huge hit when rust bubbles pop up like you're depicting. If the paint system was applied correctly this would not be evident. The buyers of today are way more privy to this. I personally would deduct the price of a complete repaint from the value of a similiar car without any signs of rust. I would jump at Mr. Crown's offer of 14,500. Good Luck in any case.:beers:

Alex, is it a bench seat? You are saying the interior is nice except the driver's seat. Everything else is pristine? How does the trunk look? How are the floor pans, electrical, brakes, suspension, radiator?

bucket seats(no console). none of the other seats have any wear, headliner and carpet are new, as are door panels, visors

trunk is rust free, original spare in place. floor pans also in good shape.

electrical would be redone before sold, fuse box shorted out. radiator is 2 years old, aluminum.

suspension and brakes are good- replaced the front pads when we got it, drums were fine.

To sum this up as I see it.

In the spring, you might be selling a 66 malibu with a big block and 4 spd and 12 bolt, that needs some rust repairs. Although it does have some new parts here and there.

Springtime is rapidly approaching. I would say that you should make a decision if and when you want to sell.

If you decide to sell in the next week or two, take some up close pics of the rust areas, trunk, floor pans, interior, engine bay and show them on here for a better estimate on value.

If you get prices now, it might not apply if you decide to sell 2 or 3 months from now.
