I can't find that suffix code, or anything close for that matter...maybe check the code again?
No Casting number on the block?
How about a casting date??
Maybe get the numbers off the heads, or intake.
Might give a clue as to what year...
V = Flint Mich.
05 = May
06 = 6th day
ECU ???

EC could be a 1965 Chevelle 300hp 327 or 1966 Chevelle 275hp 327.

Could it be 14022301 or 14022601? 14022301 are 80-84 305 heads and 14022601 are either 80-82 267 or 80-86 305 heads. Not what you'd call "performance" heads!!!

Check again for the block casting number.

The suffix ECU does not exist BUT FCU does.

V0506ECU
V - Flint Engine Plant
05 - May of 1985
06 - Day
FCU - 1985 1/2 and 3/4 ton pickup truck 305 (5.0L) 150 HP and matched up to a manual trans RPO LE9 NOTE-This engine code only used this one year.

Note--305 engines of this era are notorious for bad camshafts and inferior engine components. Not a good engine to invest a lot of $$ in upgrades. Better to go the 350 route.
