Hi-

I have photocopies of all the titles and previous owners for my 66' from the Michigan DMV dating back to 1977. The titles have the name and address of all the owners (no phone numbers). However, I'm not sure how to contact these people, I don't know any police officers to help me out and I'm not that handy with the computer. I tried calling information and there were no listings for these people.

Any tips?

Good idea, but I'm in a small town about 70 miles away. A little to far to drive.

Well with a little help from my friend and the internet, we found the guy who owned my 66' in 1977...the earliest my records from the DMV went back.

He's retired now, still lives in Michigan and he remembered the car being white with light blue interior. He said it was a six cylinder and it was the first automatic car he ever owned. This corasponds with my VIN which is 135, but he said he bought it out of Ohio and it had a 66' SS hood way back then and the SuperSport fender scrips. I thought that was odd for that far back, but who knows...maybe from factory, or more likely added on later by someone.

He also said that they brought their daughter home from the hospital (being born) in that car. I asked if he had any pic's or info paperwork about the car, but he didn't. He does have some super 8 film of the car and his daughter the day they brought her home, but he didn't seem to want to make a copy...not sure if he could or not.

So any way he's still into cars and is a member of at least two car clubs in the Detroit area. It was a nice chat and I plan on sending him pic's of the car now with the 475 in her. He was shocked that the car was still around and couldn't believe I was calling him.
