I was just playing around with Paintshop Pro when I decided to take the brochure picture of the Custom 4-door sedan and try to turn it into a base 2-door sedan. I wanted to showcase the back panel trim since I don't think it shown anywhere. I also wanted to show how truly similar the 2-door (11) & 4-door sedan (69) bodystyles are.

Interesting... i would agree they are quite similar, the 2 door sedan (as cool as it would be to build a sleeper, with dog dishes out of the one on ebay right now) loses the classic '1967 look' with the flush rear window... compared to the hardtop...
my car was originally silverglaze metallic... one day if i repaint the car i might go with the original colour... i don't think i've seen any 67s with PP paint out there...

Andrew, I owned a "black widow" 67 SD, silverglaze metallic with only two options TH400 and white wall tires. Sweet body off restoration started on it and I let it go when I got the SD I have now..... Its somewhere out there Im sure !!!

Do you have any clear pictures of it in the original paint? i'll have to see what other cars came with that code or get a pint mixed and paint a test panel one day to see if i like the colour... i have a spare hood, maybe i'll make some wall art out of it!
Mike was yours a 736 or 738 car?

Mine was a 738, interestingly enough when the docs. came from GM, it showed a 396/325 but no serial # recorded/on record...... Engine was long gone from car but if you had a 396 with correct code date ......

Makes it hard to fake canadian cars since the engine build day is on file as well... you actually have to find an engine from the right day to fake it! not like the US cars, they will take anything built weeks to months before the car date and restamp it and call it original (which i disagree with! btw!). My car only had one repaint when i redid the car, it was silver then white, and now yellow... silver wasnt too popular in the late 80's when i picked yellow, then it became wayyy too popular in the 90's-00s...now its settling down enough that silver may be an option for me... my car wasn't original with a vinyl top but had one put on in 1972, and i've become so used to it that i think i would leave it one if i repainted the car...
