My hood hinges on my 68' are worn out and the back of my hood sticks up. My hood is in great shape and even though its a Malibu hood I'm considering keeping it instead of buying a 69' SS hood/hinges. I've been told I could get my hinges rebuilt and I've had no luck finding 68' hinges new or repop.

I just had my door hinges and hood hinges done by Willie. Great job, looks like new, operates like new. Very quick turn around. Thanks Willie:hurray:.

Willie,

What is the normal price to do a set of hood hinges? My dad could use the ones rebuilt on his 72. His hood sticks up in the back when closed.

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
Best to contact me at my e-mail address willie@hoodhingerepair.com or call me 434-258-2606 about pricing. I hope he keeps the hinge rivets oiled well, as they need lubrication whether they are old or freshly rebuilt.

Thanks Willie,

I will send you an email on the pricing. He has had the car a couple of years and I would probably bet that they have only been oiled maybe once after they were powdercoated.

Thanks,
Brian

If your hood sticks up in the back sounds like an adjustment issue.
I had the same problem with my 70 and what I had to do was raise my hood hing in the back that way it will lower the hood.

I have a set of repo's that someone sent me for trade in, that are brand new, I will give you. I tried to put them on a car I was having painted, because I did not car if they got over-spray on them, and could not get them to bolt up to my Original SS hood. Do not know if they came from Ground Up, but made in China.
