I picked up a 66 327 and I'm stripping the engine for cleaning and it had the oil filter coversion kit installed on it, from cannister to spin on. I have removed the two bolts from it but the adaptor won't budge, am I missing something?? I don't want to break something. The engine is really gunked up, it was in a wrecker and a lot of just puttering around but it still has the standard bore and really no ridges on the walls, just stuck rings, should clean up at .030. Is this adaptor just stuck or is there something else holding it on?

I think it is just stuck. Spin the old filter back on and see if you can't wiggle it loose that way.

It was stuck allright, whoever installed the conversion/adaptor kit used some type of gasket sealent between the adaptor and the block instead of a gasket. Got it off, appreciate the advice,
