hey ya'll, since i have the velle on the lift at schoool, i decided to look for the rear code.
im not sure if i got the right one or not, i will get more tomorrow if i need to.

this is what i found on the rear end housing, on drivers side lower part.
3969277NE im pretty sure thats what it said. also on p/s there was a 64. i didnt get the axle tube numbers though, i will get tomorrow.

The number you found will not tell you what gears are in it. You need to get those numbers off of the passenger side axle tube. It'll be on the forward facing side.

C=Chevy Buffalo Axle Plant
187=Axle assembly date; 187th day of the year
2=Second work shift

cool man thanks. then the posi thast in there is after market..

i can get a 3.08 posi 10bolt from a buddy, im not sure of the price, if its in better shape than mine i may get it, plus it has a new posi in it.
