1972 Chevelle
2 Door Coupe
350 ci 4 bbl V-8 175 hp
Built at: Leeds City
Unit number: 530117

BBL = barrels on the carb. 4 BBL means a 4 barrel carburetor...

FYI, your car was built 2164 cars after mine, at the same plant. Mine has a build date of 11A (1st week of November, 1971). When was yours built? Look on the cowl tag, at the lower left hand corner. Should be a 2-digit number from 01 to 12, followed by a single letter from A to E. The number signifies the build month, and the letter is for the week.

Here is a picture of my cowl tag...

One small correction, True, "K" Is for the Leeds plant (in Kansas City Missouri.)

Leeds is not a city, it's just an area within Kanss City MO.

Leeds is not a city, it's just an area within Kansas City MO. Correct, it's really a community/industrial park at 37th (Stadium Drive) and Main but referred to as Leeds, Missouri. You'll also find it spelled "Leeds" on the Internet but "Leed's" on their build sheets.

Yes. The 69 model year started production with number 300001 instead of 100001 though.

Yes. The 69 model year started production with number 300001 instead of 100001 though.

Saw a 69 Chevelle the other day, the trim tag looked suspicious to me because the production sequence was 100196

build date was 08 A (first week of august, 1968) Kansas
