I mocked up the front end of my Chevelle and I can't get the hood to fender gap where I am happy with it. The gap is about 1/8 at the front of the fender and widens out to 1/4 at the rear of the fender/hood. If I move the top of the fenders in to get the correct hood to fender gap, I don't have enough adjustment left in the door hinges to maintain a good door to fender gap. I see in the assembly manual it allows for a little wider gap at the rear of the fender so maybe this is how it will have to be. Can some of you with 70's tell me if the hood to fender gap widens a little as it gets closer to the windshield?

Thanks!

hi there; try loosening the 2 bolts that attach the fender to the core support. you may me able to get at least a 1/16" out of that. if you have the opposite problem on the passenger side with the hood to fender alignment, your core support may be out of square with the firewall. i had the same problem and i loosened up all of the fender bolts and core support bushing bolts. i cocked the core support bolts a little, took a crossways measurement from the firewall to a bolt on the core support and fixed the alignment issues. thanks, dave

Sure is fun isnt it! Just keep playing with it till your happy.if you get frusterated.. walk away instead of tring to fix it with a hammer... or cutting something you shouldnt. I had to elongate some of the holes in my fenders, both inner and outer to get everthing where it needs to go.
