Hey Guys,
The previous owner of my 68 El converted it from column-shift to floor-shift. But he did not swap out the steering column. The shift lever is gone from the column but the 'nubs' where it attached are still there. Looks bad!

My question: to correct this, do I need to swap out the entire column with a floor-shift column? Or can I swap out the piece of the column where the 'nubs' are (using that same piece from a floor-shift column)?
Your help is appreciated! :beers:

A lot of people just saw off the knub and fiber glass over the hole. A lot of columns have been successfully converted to floor shifts that way. Otherwise, if you can find a floor shift bowl, you should be able to swap the bowls.

Thanks James and Jim. I think I can get myself a 68 Impala floor-shift column. I'll give that bowl a shot to see if it fits. I don't want to do more work than I have to!
