72 B is on the cowl tag. That indicates SS right?

Is the production number accurate for a december 68 car?

I took a pic of the 12 bolt, I zoomed in on the date code.
K 13 8= November 13 1968 Casting right?

136379 is for 1969 "Malibu" two door hardtop V8.

72 B is for Monaco Orange with Black vinyl top. Color only available on SS's and COPO special order. Monaco COPO's would have "--" as paint code.

Production number is good for December. My 69 convert is from KC, built first part of January (can't remember offhand if it's 01A or 01B), and its number is 378903.

And yes, you've got the date right on the rear axle center section. If it isn't rust pitted to death, you might still find legible numbers stamped into the right side axle tube, telling the assembly date and ratio smile.gif
