I've got a '66 396 and I think it is a 325 hp motor. I also want to know when it was built.

rear: 3855961
front: T06I5EDH6 F142739

What does should all this tell me?

thanks in advance

So after some searching I see that 3855961 is a 325 motor and it was built June 15. That's all I can figure out though. Any help is appreciated.

Ok, I have an answer thanks to some TC friends... graemlins/thumbsup.gif Thought I'd share the results.

961 can be a 66 325 or 360 hp block

BUT given the other info....it's a 325hp

T= Tonawanda assembly plant
06 = June
15 = 15th day
EDH = 325hp ( H) Holley equipped engine
6 = model year
F = FLINT assembly plant

142739 = 42,739 VEHICLE off the assembly line, may not be limited to Chevelle models...other cars being built at same plant on same line.

Almost...The Chevelle lineup started with 100001, other makes started with other numbers. So your's is the 42,739 Chevelle off the assembly line of all models of Chevelles. I think Flint was strickly Chevrolet anyway - at least according to GM's own documentation. "Chevelle vehicle build sequence numbers start at 100001"
