I have a 1968 300 Deluxe I would like help decoding.

The trim tag is as follows:

ST 68 13427 BAL00639 BODY
TR 760 B AA PAINT

The VIN# is:
134378B123364

Engine Code:
18B123365 VIOO(maybe zeros or two o's)3ES

I think it's an L79 325hp 327
It has a Muncie M21 (I think)
It's a Posi 4.10 rear end

Notice that the engine VIN doesn't match the VIN? It's one number off. Is it possibly an error form the factory?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

but your body styles don't match...typo? 13427 (as on body plate) is sedan and 13437 (as in VIN) is a 2-dr coupe (6803 produced).

Do you happen to know how many L79 motors were put into Chevelles in 1968?

Sounds like a awesome car. I dont think there was many L-79's in a 68 chevelle. Is the car still all together or are you restoring it?

The car is in great shape. The body is as straight as an arrow and the interior is very nice. The front seats had some seems ripping so I'm having them recovered now. The engine runs excellent too.
