i have a 68 ss need to know if wheel opening mouldings were available on an ss or just concourse models? the moldings i have are differant than 69 moldings. they are shorter and have a black stripe in them. i have not seen an ss in any original sales lit. with them on.dont want to put them on if they are not correct

I'm no expert, but I recall someone saying that SS's could not get them. The article on this site regarding ID'ing an SS states that they were not available on any 68 Chevelle or elky. Personally, mine did not come with them, and I have never seen a 68 SS with them.

In '68 SS only the Concourse Wagon came with wheel opening moldings. These were black paint filled.
