Got in the car this morning, turned the key, felt a slight click as the key went to "start",
but the engine cranked, and I proceed down the road. However, as I get back in the car
to come back home from my eye appointment, I turned the key to start......and the engine
won't turn over at all.

I played with the switch a few minutes and noticed that it would twist every so slightly
when I turned the key towards "start" and twisted back when I turned back to
assessories". The switch has done this for some, but I didn't think it was a big deal since
the car would crank normally, until today.

I thought I would be brilliant and use my remote starter in my tool box inside the trunk and
at least get the car back to the house. Hooked up the remote starter leads to the solenoid
and gave it a bump, nothing happened (had the key in the "on" position too).

Battery is strong, so that's eliminated.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks, Charles

Sounds like it might be time to pull the starter and have a look/see at the solenoid. If you're using a 'stock' style starter and headers, they can cook.

(I'm assuming that the headlights and everything else works)?

Yes, Dave. Everything else works including lights, etc.

You're right. I have a stock starter/solenoid setup w/headers and the wires are "crispy"
due to closeness to the Hedman headers. I also had a strenuous Dynojet session a short
time ago, and those headers were probably generating a lot of heat on that harness section.

I'll start my investigation in that area.

Thanks for responding!

Check to see that you are getting 12 volts to the solenoid. If not then it may be as simple as the neutral safety switch.
