Hi guy's...

I was talking to a few of the local guy's and they were saying that lately, Holley carbs have had a problem with warping. I have a 3310 on top of my aluminum intake and was wondering if I should do anything to prevent warpage.

Any suggestions would be appreciated if this is indeed a problem.

There's no lately about it, they've always done this. The front and back surfaces of the main body are an unmachined casting that's not straight when it's new, after a few guys overtighten the you-know-what out of the bowl screws a few times the surfaces can get real bowed. I just run'em through a mill to fix it. I do this to brand new carbs right out of the box because I like my carbs to seal up right.

I'm still running the original 780 on my '70. When I rebuilt it in '85 I just had to machine file the body front and rear. My other carb (750 3310) I purchased in 1980 and have no problems with it either. Don't over torque the base. 5-7 ftlb or snug it up in a cross pattern.
