I have a 67 malibu and i want to put the ss black dash strip where the wood grain one is but the bezels are on the ss one how do you attach all of your switches i have looked everywhere, any one know or have an orginal ss to let me know thanks

Had the same problem had to buy a headlight switch retainer and wiper retainer nut from ausleys chevelle #hrn647 #wrn647 www.chevelle.com (http://www.chevelle.com)

You need a special tool to install the retaining nuts. I bought mine from a place where I bought the new retainers. (Sorry I can't remember the name of the company and I'm not at home so I cant look it up. Not much help am I).It is the only way to install the switch retainers without damaging the bezel.

If you don't have the tool, you can use a small pair of needle nose pliers with small points.
Still each end of the needle nose in one of the two holes in the retainer and spin carefully while pushing pressure towards the retainer. Get the retainer started and spin with your fingers until snug. Tighten with the needle nose.
That's how I did it.
