The Red Book says 9204 not 9402...

According to my "Chevrolet by the Numbers" book, you need a 7029200. That's what my car has on it, and it's the original carb. 7029202 is for either a 255 or 300 hp 350 small block.

Bill... You are correct. Why can't they get things right in these books. I thought the numbers in the Chev. SS Muscle Car Red Book were all correct. I guess not. This can go in the trash with the Restoration Guide, which by the way has the corect number for the 69 carbs... graemlins/angry.gif graemlins/angry.gif

Sorry about the wrong info...

Hey, us Bills got to watch out for each other, ya know :D

Seriously, the "Chevrolet by the Numbers" books are the best I've seen - but even they aren't perfect. A couple years ago I was checking the numbers on the 73 Z28 which I bought brand new, and the number the book had listed for one of the exhaust manifolds did not match the number on my exhaust manifold, so there was proof positive that even the best references can be wrong sometimes.

Hey Bill,

Those CBTN books are great and you can get corrections to the books on-line too @ alancolvin.com.

Al,

Thanks for the tip. I'd say Colvin is very concerned about being correct if he is willing to change his book based on input from collectors graemlins/thumbsup.gif

You're welcome, Bill. I don't know how or what resources he uses, but it sure looks like he wants to get the correct info out for us to use. That's always a bonus to me.
