I am looking at buying a muncie trans for my 69 velle I would like to decode these two transmissions that I have found. One is a 3925661 the other #'s on it are 39821 and 3088336 and it doesn't have a ring on the tail shaft. The other trans is a3925661 with a date code of pod08b with a 26 spline single ring shaft.Thanks for any help you can give me.

3925661 is a case number for 70-74 model year
No groove may be a M22,unless made up from parts
3088336 is the Patent number
P0D08B:
P=Muncie
0=1970 model year
D08=April 8th
B=M21
(1 ring shaft is also for M21)

i believv that the rings are for m20 and m21. but they did make big shaft fine spline m21's and vice versa for m22's

You aren't mistaken Dale. But it's still good not to have any rings on your tailshaft.:D
