I had a "custom" alignment done a few weeks back. You guys helped me pick the specs. Well tonight while looking under the hood. I noticed on the passanger upper control arm towards the rear of the car. There are so many shims in there. The nut doesn't seem to have proper thread engagement. I can barely feel the bolts threads in the nut...... I'm not even sure if I'd be comforable if they were flush, let alone not even flush. So if I take this bolt out and try to stick in a longer one. Is something going to blow up on me........... is there alot of pressure here? Thanks for the ideas in advance.

dont remove the bolt..... Also if you have to many shims, that is a promblem.... are you control arm bushings in good shape

All the bushings are new from last year. I think they tried their best to match the specs I gave them. In the process really turning out the passenger side. Is there alot of stress in this bolt? Would it be likely for this to pull through the nut?

PS~ This is the tread getting advice on alignment specs to use:

I think I ended up with 1.25 degrees of caster. (I had requested 1.5). I am guessing that is all they could get.

I was editing my last post to include that info.
I had 1.25 put in. I was asking for 1.5

well, it doesnt seem like that much, I'm almost inclined to think you might have a bent frame...but before we jump to that conclusion, I would have your alignment done again some where else.. The reason being your alignment is only as accurate as the machine that they used. Most of the time the delicate "heads" they put on each wheel are dropped and cause them to lose their accuracy. I would go to a place that has a newer type alignment rack that uses lasers and ask them if it is accurate and the last time it has been recalibrated. Hopefully this is the promblem and not a bent frame
