hey guys I am looking at a 70 ss. I think it really is a SS, but it doesn't have the original engine or the 4 speed anymore (still has the pedals). But can someone give me as much info as they can from this vin number?

Nothing much to tell other than it's a 2 door coupe with a V-8 built at the Arlington Plant.

Zio,
In 1970 the Chevelle SS wasn't a model. It was a Malibu with either a z15 (454) or, z25 (396) option. As you mentioned the original engine and transmission are gone. Some folks will match the engine and trans that is in the car to the VIN and call it a match. However, I'm sure there are plenty of cars out there, which have been re-stamped. That is why cars with documentation are going for big dollars.
