Did the 66 Super Sport have different door panels and seat upholstery than the other 66 models ie: Malibu etc. I have looked at tons of members pictures on this site and have seen 66 SS door panels with and without lower carpet. Also have seen SS seats with and without the 4 rectangular emblems. What is correct for a 66 SS and where can I buy them? Thanks in advance. Photos would be very helpful.

Malibu door panels are the same as SuperSport door panels for 66. The 300 and 300 deluxe are different. Carpet on the lower door panels is an Impala or Skylark thing. It was never factory on 1966 Chevelles.
When seats get re-upholstered quite often the seat badges are left off. All Malibus and SuperSports left the factory with seat badges.

I agree with Tom, SuperSports and Malibus used the same interiors, no carpet on the door panels, they all used the seat and door panel emblems...
One exception: I think there were some interior colors that were "SuperSport Only", etc... I recall "White" was SuperSport-only???
Seat medalions should be available at most resto suppliers... Repro door panels usually don't come with the medalions or lower trim (some extra cost 'assembled" panels, maybe), but these medalions and trim are also alvailable repro through most sources...

By four medalions you mean 1 each for the buckets and 2 total for the rear seat I hope. I have seen someone's ride in a pic and they installed 4 total medallions in the rear seat. Make sure you give the proper dimensions to your upholsterer because if they are off an in. they'll look odd. Post back if you need dimensions.

Hey cheveslakr...I know that this thread is a little old but I'm getting ready to recover the seats in my 66SS and really need those dimensions for the medallions on the buckets and the rear seat.
I used an old tie wrap to measure the front seat of a car at a car show, but I didn't think the owner would understand why I was crawling around in his back seat. :boxing:HAHA

I hooked a stretch-out tape measure (pliable) on the top rear corner of the rear seat where it would meet the package tray and measured down 11 1/2" to the topside of the medallion. This measurement is from my reupholstered seat but I was very explicit with the upholstorer on the location.

Tip, make sure you put the medallions on the seat covers before you put them on the seats themselves, they actually mount from the inside of the cover. I didnt think of that when I did my front buckets on my 66. The fronts were missing and it never actually occured to me to look closer at the back seat, which does have them. Its been that way for years and I have just dealt with it but once I get this car the way I always wanted it. I will have to pull the replacement covers off and put them on. It might not be a big deal but its a hassle none of the less.

Thanx for the tip Chris.....I guess alot of people forget to put them back on.....I think it really dresses up the seats nice.
My seats were "customized"....so thats why mine weren't there.
