I just picked up a 1990 chevy full size blazer that is 4wd. I didn`t notice anything on the test drive or the drive home but today I was driving around and when I leave from a stop I can hear something that sounds like fluid flowing through a hose or something and I hear it coming from the floor board. I only hear it when I first leave a stop. The tranny is a 700R4. Any ideas?

I bet that you are hearing the coolant in the heater core, which is usually caused from low coolant level. My 89 Chevrolet Silverado that I have owned for 15 years, and drive daily does this when it gets low. As a matter of fact, I just had to put intake manifold gaskets on it this weekend because it had started leaking. This is the most that I have ever had to do to the engine, and it has 273,000 miles on it. It still doesn't use a drop of oil, and even still has the original fuel pump, freon in the A/C, and Heater core.

Thanks. your actually the 3dr person who`s told me that so I`m going to have to agree with you that it`s probably the coolant. I`m not sure if it`s a issue I need to worry about it or not because everything works fine. Might be some air bubbles I guess. The blazer has 222,000 miles and it runs great other than needing a tune up.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, mine has been doing it for years. I fill the radiator and the resevoir, drive it and get it hot, let it set overnight, and top off the radiator after it cools down the next morning, usually works until I develop another misterious leak and it get low again.
