well picked up one of these for a steal so I guess I'll try it out...should be a MAJOR upgrade from the ls1 intake, ported these are supposed to make 20+ over the ls6 intake which is supposed to outflow the ls1 by 10-15hp

so I'm hoping for a gain I can really feel

also removed this large triangular area where the runner meets the heads, not sure why it's made to be there but looks to be a serious restriction

Also painted the intake semi gloss black since the gray plastic color wasn't very attractive

thanks :)

tomorrow I will be port matching the inner layer to the bottom layer since there is a noticeable edge between the 2 pieces at each port

Looking good! Wish I could find one for a steal but I suppose the LS6 is sufficient for now.

my friend runs 11.7's with his stock ls6 intake on his ta. and 10.68's at 130 on 160wshot.
i think the ls6 intake can def hold its own for a long time..

intake was $500 with injectors and fuel rails (which I will resell), throttle body was $200

if I don't get the gains I'm looking for since my setup is rather mild, I'll find someone who wants to trade for a ls6/stock tb plus cash and still come out on top

You are right that is a killer deal. I paid 300 for my LS6 brand new without TB but would have gladly paid a bit more for the FAST cuz as you mentioned it has been proven to make more power. Not that the LS6 is a slouch though.

yeah it was brought to my attention via pm in my wanted to buy thread for a ls6 intake, I would have kicked myself for not getting it...even if it was just to resell it

found out my dad got a great deal of his own, picked up a holley 950hp 4150 carb for $150 the other day

The FAST intakes work good for sure-- especially for strokers or high RPM engines where the intake and TB becomes a restriction. And painting them black looks much better than the original gray IMO. Good deal on it too!

I was going to buy a FAST intake for my new LS2 but picked up a used LS6 intake instead on the advice of the engine guy... because when you're shoving air through it, it's no longer a restriction. :)

Wow that intake sure looks rough on the inside. For being a performance intake you would think they could do alot to their molds to fix the areas you went in and ported and make them even better.

I agree 100% much better black.

Well, since I haven't weighed the car I don't have accurate numbers, but I picked up no less than 20rwhp with this intake and I haven't even tuned for it yet. Airflow was increased by about 15+ grams per second according to my MAF readings.

I'm pretty well satisfied. I should still see some more with a good tune and once I get ported heads one day it will really shine.

The car gained all through the power band, but its most noticeable above 4000rpm where it's just insane.

Car ran 8.46@86.8 mph in 2099 da air last weekend. Still got about 24 mpg on the drive down too. I'm still missing some power with this mail order tune but my friend is about to buy a wideband o2. Once I get readings I can send the pcm back with some data logs and have it retuned for free.

This will get me by until I do a full dyno tune.
