my uncle gave me a short block with the following markings. i have decoded the info on the block is this correct? my next question is this short block has been exposed to the weather for about six years. the cylinders are fusted from the tops of the pistons to the block deck. the oil pan is still on, but it has been uncovered. if is a stock bore can this thing worth saving or can it be saved. thanks,

CLK can be 73 Z28 L82 350 for the Turbo 400

or 71 Chevrolet 400 with t/h

or 72 Chevelle/Monte 400 with t/h

IF it is a 350 and not a 400, it is a nice find, as those had the forged crank, forged rods and pistons, basically an LT-1 with a hyd cam

if it is a 350 is the block worth saving? it has a lot of rust in the cyclinders. like i said it has lived outside for 6 years.

thanks,

actually I overlooked your other info posted initially

It appears to be a 73 Z28 engine, the L82

YES it is worth saving, ALL the parts in the L-82 were the "good" stuff. I'm surprised someone let it sit for so long This should also have the "big" harmonic dampner as well

IF the 1973 Z28 is still around, the current owner would likely pay good money to get this engine back
